An investor in multiple sports, media, real estate and technology-focused concerns, Levien serves as the Co-managing partner of Swansea City AFC and CEO and Co-Chairman of DC United. He is also an investor in autonomous video production and the esports organization, Immortals Gaming Club. He serves on Major League Soccer's Board of Governors.
The public-private partnership that led to the development of Audi Field received the DC Chamber of Commerce award as the economic development project of the year. The development of Segra Field in Virginia and the 50-plus acre campus was awarded as "Deal of the Year" by Loudoun County's Economic Development committee.
Previously, Levien has served as an investor and board member of the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association. He subsequently served as CEO and Managing Partner of the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies and the FedexForum. During his tenure, ESPN named the Grizzlies the Number One Professional Sports Franchise in North America. He served as an NBA Alternate Governor.
Levien graduated from Pomona College, where he was a member of the basketball team. He received a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School, serving as a law review editor. He also earned a Master's in Public Policy from the University of Michigan. Levien is divorced. He is involved in numerous philanthropic activities and serves on the board of DC2026. He has served as an adjunct law professor at the University of California Berkeley School of Law as well as being awarded fellowships at the University of Michigan and Harvard Law School.
